Ooh this is funky! Letting random ideas flow can be a fun process.

I'm not sure I'd really call this Jazz in the structural sense, but the composition process as you describe it is a jam session as is typical in lots of Jazz music. I'd say this is Synthwave with some Funk elements provided by the bass, both of which have shared roots with Jazz.

Also the drums are sick too

Arponax responds:

the Jazz is mostly coming from that second half XD i have tendency to label a song the way it ended instead of how it started.

im glad you enjoyed tho :D

The vocals are off-key in parts and the drums crowd them out a lot but the guitar work is absolutely superb. You've evoked a feeling of a very sparse and intensely hot environment, and the other instruments feed into this mood very well without taking attention away from the guitar. Keep practicing on your vocals and you'll have a great addition to your lineup!

Scareev responds:

i forgot to send a response, but thanks for the feedback! this track was kinda messy in the start since i just recorded everything one take xd, but i'm glad the guitar was good!

Great work! I'm terrible at FNF so I'm sure this track would destroy my fingers but the beat sounds fun nonetheless

MasterHand4444 responds:

This is definitely one of the harder songs on the mod! Its harder remixed version that I'm working on will sure be something LOL...

Really cool song! Not sure what the original sounded like for reference but this is really clean and crisp without being overwhelming or looking like a wall of sound.

The song felt like it took a while to really "get going" but the break was really full of energy and it was well-paced by the end without being too repetitive.

The vocals were pretty interesting. I feel like the garbled FX change the melody too much and kind of clash with the instruments. I think a song that has lots of electronic melodies like this one might work better if the vocals are sung in longer, steadier notes so that there is not too much going on at the same time. The verses around 3:32 are my favorite, they feel sermon-like, kind of like heavy metal with the way you delivered them.

Scareev responds:

I'm really grateful for this review! such a long time people don't review my tracks xd, but yesss

Originally, this song was split in 2, so this is why it took a while for the song to start, but when i release it, i will divide them!

I'm glad you find out the vocals intersting, i wasn't that confident about it since my voice is pretty meh, and i've been really thinking about the synths, and how they really conflict with the main vocal melody, maybe i transform them into chords or something like that to harmonize better

And i'm planning for re-do this song in the future, since i recorded the vocals with my computer's mic, since i don't really have a mic lol, but yeah, i'm really really grateful for the review, it helps me so much pointing out what i could fix!

Very cool! The instrument/sample choices really sell the frigid stillness of the environment. It feels almost organic in parts, like a once-lush forest that's been conquered by thick sheets of ice and frost.

JensVide responds:

That sounds like Sweden in winter. Glad you enjoyed!

This track kicks ass. I had to look up what Microtonal is but I think you nailed the balance of something accessible to the average listener while still using non-standard tones and harmonizing them well. The triangle synth definitely sticks out the most to me as being an unusual tone but honestly its kind of endearing. I love the shift halfway in, reminds me of a racing game

Triaam responds:

Thank you for the feedback!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

One artist I'd really recommend you to listen to is Sevish on YouTube, he's pretty much the pioneer of electronic microtonal music.

Again, thank you! More to come soon ;)

Very cool! I love how you've programmed the brass instruments in this. The song feels very evocative of the Vectorman soundtrack, some very cool House elements in here.

SkittleWaffle responds:

ikr the brass is so catchy! :D

This is pretty good! The main melody is catchy and the rhythm is very energetic. I think the mix feels a little too loud on the low end though, it causes a lot of details to get washed out when things get really busy and a lot of the song gets forced into the background.

flashmakeit responds:

That is so true. I should be more careful. Thanks for the score, listening to my audio and commenting on it.

Really digging the flow of this one, especially the lead instrument. The tone switches near the end are cool too.

Viraxor responds:

Thanks!

This is good for being done in such a hurry! The vocals are a little hard to hear at times. The whole song has a very homegrown feel to it, especially the guitar.

Scareev responds:

it's crazy how waking up and then going straight to singing can sometimes give something like this xd, and yeahh, the vocals are in fact hard to hear, maybe i exagerated at the bitcrush effect a bit lol, thanks for the feedback ^-^!!!
