The jazzy notes are cool! I like how this feels fast-paced without feeling frantic. It feels like more of an "in the zone" kind of pace.

SkittleWaffle responds:

That’s exactly what I was going for! Glad it got across

I feel like you also managed to convey some of that environment around you in this song. There's an engrossing gloominess present in that main melody.

I don't really know how to say this without it sounding insulting, but music is able to capture any emotion and present it in a way that feels entertaining, regardless of the emotion. And this song kinda captures boredom for me. It's not boring, it's in fact a very chill tune! But it captures this image for me of just sitting around in the midst of a dark cloudy day, wondering if I should be somewhere else. It is picturesque, even if that picture isn't a wholly positive one. I so rarely encounter songs that do this to me that I just had to talk about it. Hopefully I explained it well. Great work!

vividlance responds:

You didn't sound insulting at all, I'm glad that sorta meh/bored feeling came through in the track! I think that feeling is super underrated, and while I think a lot of songs express this feeling - it's hard to get it right or in a way that really lives an impression.

I'm really glad you liked it! In retrospect, I probably could've looped both sections another 4 bars but ultimately decided to just upload it anyway. I can definitely say making this helped shake off some bad vibes.

This is an interesting track. It's got a really good rhythm to it and the bass has a nice grittiness that gives the song an industrial feel, but that breakdown that comes 1/3 of the way in, I keep going back and forth on liking and disliking it. It veers out of control so abruptly but the song still manages to collect itself and get back into its rhythm very smoothly. If nothing else, it's certainly thought-provoking!

flashmakeit responds:

I always enjoy reading your comments. You write a lot of details and information I can use when making my next audio. Thank you.

I'll save myself from going on a tirade about Russia, but I will say this was an interesting vocal sample to utilize. The instrumentation is really nice, almost entrancing, like a good light show at its peak, but it didn't really feel like there was anything thematically connecting the vocals to the instruments.

Also, "figured AIDs was the best I could do today" sounds amazing out of context

Quarl responds:

AIDs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Very cool! Admittedly I don't have much knowledge about dub music but this sounds pretty dang legit. The wobble synth in the back (the one that sounds like an octave higher than the wobble bass) got a little bit repetitive though, I think maybe it's the high end of it that's standing out so much to me, but aside from that it's programmed really well.

arbelamram responds:

i tottally agree about the the repetitive synth, i have some ideas to for making a VIP for this hehe ^^

and thank u very much! ♥

Not bad! I think the mix feels a little on the lighter side of things for an anime intro, but the melodies and progression (especially when that orchestra comes in) feel spot-on, and it's the perfect length too!

I like to imagine the track name is also the title of the anime, so in the beginning or in the end of the intro video there should totally be a gruff Japanese man shouting "TUROUSA SUNEIKU!"

ZaazNG responds:

Thank you so much!! I do agree that the mix is a bit light, and the title shout is such a brilliant idea, I wish I could have included it lmao

Completing a song of any length or type each day is impressive regardless of any issues with the final product. What's important is that you're developing your skills! Don't be afraid to adjust your pace if you feel like burnout is coming up.

I love the percussion here, it has just the right amount of punch and some impressive hat/cymbal work. The whole song gives me Egyptian desert vibes. It's smooth but imposing, with the kind of progression you hear in a lot of desert-themed areas in media. Very nice!

FL-DMD responds:

I love your analogy. And I really appreciate the inspiring words form you. I checked your stuff out as well and I must say I’m hooked on your Day 3 track 😍.

Haha you’re so right about this Egyptian vibe. I kinda didn’t really think of that until you brought it up though.

This melody sure gave me a spook. Very nice use of what I assume is the EarthBound soundfont! The beat feels a little sparse though, I feel like some hihats could have helped fill some of that silence.

TwistedFW responds:

Good Guess on the Earthbound Sound font XD and yea I can definitely see what you mean, adding hi hats could've helped a lot. Thanks! :3

I wasn't expecting a song in this genre to have such good gloomy, atmospheric undertones to it. The vocals add a lot of depth to the song and your percussion is so tight and weighty.

Hairmilked responds:
